This is a metal flake ball - the process for applying the metal flake is done in an even, high density pattern across the surface of the ball before the top coat is applied, allowing the ball to roll better and catch the magnet more easily than lower quality cue balls.

This is Aramith's intermediate quality magnetic cue ball - more economical than the premium Aramith Cougar Duramith cue ball.
